Tragic News In Charleston – Church Shooting Results In Multiple Fatalities Including Pastor – Suspect At Large

There’s tragic news in Charleston tonight. Police say a?shooter opened fire on a church in downtown Charleston, S.C. around 9 p.m. ET Wednesday night. Nine victims were shot with multiple fatalities including the pastor, but at this time the final number is unknown.

The shooter is described as a clean-shaven white man in his 20s with a slender build wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, and boots. He is still at large, so neighbors are urged to stay inside due to this immediate threat.

Pastor Thomas Dixon said,

“It’s really bad. It’s a very bad scene. Apparently the person just entered the church and opened fire. That part has not been fully articulated on what happened yet … they are still looking for the suspect.”

?Mother Emanuel? (Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal – AME) Church?is a 150-year-old historic church in downtown Charleston. The website for the church said it has one of the largest and oldest black congregations in the region.

The church holds a Bible study in its basement every Wednesday.
