There is a video going viral today of a black mom who took five?minutes out of her lunch break to make a YouTube video chastising black parents and defending now former McKinney, Texas police officer Casebolt.
In the video this lady admonishes the parents for not teaching their children how to behave when in the presence of law enforcement.
Now to her credit, which isn’t much, she does make some semi-reasonable points. Kids should not run from an officer, especially if the officer is arriving to a scene. This creates confusion, tension, and would probably prompt a chase.
Then she goes on to talk about the events in the videos. Blaming the kids for making the officer “do what he had to do,” as so many people have said in defense of Casebolt.? She even says that he had every right to shoot those two unarmed teenagers who ran up on him as he was violating that little girl. Now let me make a few things clear.
Kids should also follow an officers instructions.
And kids should not start getting smart or disrespectful with the police. It doesn’t work out in most adults’ favor, unless you’re in Texas and you are a white concealed carry activist.
It’s not a crime to run when the police arrives, nor is it a crime to say whatever you want to say to a cop unless it’s a threat. However you will probably increase your chances of being treated poorly. That’s the reality of the world we live in. I think that’s the point she was trying to make. However the point she did not seem to understand is that this “reality” is NOT acceptable!
But for so many brainwashed citizens it’s easier to go along and get along rather than stay at the lunch counter or not give up your seat on the bus. This brainwashed mentality has been with our culture since the beginning of slavery. And I’m not comparing these kids to civil rights activists, but the acceptance of brutal uncalled for violence by the white authority figures has always been ingrained into black communities.
It’s called white supremacy.
We all have to fight to remind the police that they need to protect, serve, and respect the people they work for. They are not set apart from our communities;?they need to become a part of our communities. They should be expected to De-escalate situations and rarely take people to jail or even use physical force. Words need to be their first option. This can be done; it’s done in many other countries where cops learn how to de-escalate before using force.
I would be willing to bet that if you show this video to cops from around the world, they would think Casebolt was a nutcase. Only in areas where cops are trained like the military would you find agreement with how he approached the situation.
Citizens from around the world have roundly denounced this video, very few found Casebolt to be acting in a reasonable manner. Even his own police chief couldn’t defend him. And how many police chiefs haven’t defended police officers after something like this?
This woman, like so many people, fails to understand that police officers just can not fly off the handle and mistreat innocent civilians because they are upset. Casebolt had nothing to charge that little girl with. Nothing.
He also had zero reason to pull out his firearm. He was already facing the boys — he stood up, took a few steps toward them while looking them in the eyes, and then pulled out his weapon and pointed it towards them. That is NOT self-defense; that’s threatening unarmed children with a firearm and that would land the average citizen in jail.
There is a more dangerous and insidious trend this video represents, and that is the brainwashed worshiping of jackboot authoritarianism in America. People like the woman in the video are worst than racists, they would defend the police even if those kids were white. I really believe that. They believe that the police can push you around, beat you, threaten your life, and even take your life if the officer feels you got out of line.
They are jackboot brainwashed sycophants and what’s worse is that they can vote.
