Walker Claims Pregnant Women Only Care About Rape Or Incest In ‘Initial Months’

Walker’s Todd Akin Moment #1

Women only care about rape and incest in ?initial months? of pregnancy. This is from the world according to Wisconsin governor Scott Walker’s (R), the first ?Todd Akin Moment? of the season. And Walker thinks he can become President? Wow.

Who Is Todd Akin?

For those of you who blocked him out of your minds, Todd Akin (R), was a Missouri Senate candidate. His understanding of women’s bodies was so mind-numbingly wrong that the GOP pulled their money from his campaign.

This is what Akin claimed about rape during a campaign interview in August of 2012,

?If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.?

Needless to say, Akin lost his senate bid, but the Republican’s ability to misconstrue women’s bodies and emotions lives on.

Walker’s Wobbly World

Back to the ever-misinformed Gov. Walker and his Todd Akin moment. Walker seemed pretty certain of his facts when he glibly said that a woman (or teen) forgets all about the rape and incest after the ?initial months? of her pregnancy.

How exactly would he know that? He is not a woman as near as I can tell. Nor can he become pregnant. Yet Walker blithely went on totally oblivious to the horrors of rape and incest,

?I mean, I think for most people who are concerned about that, it’s in the initial months where they’re most concerned about it.

?In this case, again, it’s an unborn life, it’s an unborn child, and that’s why we feel strongly about it. I’m prepared to sign it either way that they send it to us.?

And he would gladly throw a doctor into jail for 3 ? years with fines of up to $10,000 for performing an abortion after 20 weeks. Walker also supports the bill as a federal law.

Last month Walker signed into law a bill that forces women to undergo ultrasounds before they can get an abortion. He?defended?the law last month, referring to ultrasounds as ?just a cool thing,?

?We defunded Planned Parenthood, we signed a law that requires an ultrasound ? which, the thing about that, the media tried to make that sound like that was a crazy idea.

?It’s just a cool thing out there.?

Gov Claims Woman Is Made To Procreate

So how can Walker say these callous things about a woman and her emotional experiences? Let’s not forget that Walker is an Evangelical politician who genuinely believes that a woman’s sole purpose is to procreate a man’s progeny.

Walker does not believe in abortion even to save the life of the mother. This is key.

That’s right.?She is expected to die to give birth to a man’s child. That implies his child is of utmost importance while a woman is expendable. After all, a man can always get another wife.

Rare Late-Term Abortions

Late-term abortions are rare ? and they nearly always are linked to the mother’s health. Most abortions performed after 20 weeks of pregnancy ? just 1.5% – ?are usually for women who discover abnormalities at a later stage or low-income women who cannot afford the procedure.

But 14 states have already passed 20-week abortion bans.

Emily’s List?s/ Planned Parenthood’s Response

The group, Emily’s List, came down hard on Walker for holding a position dangerous for women in Wisconsin and across the country. The group’s mission is to elect pro-choice Democratic women to office.?Spokeswoman, Marcy Stech?said,

?A woman’s right to choose is hers and hers alone. Scott Walker is the last person on earth who should be telling women how to make their deeply personal decisions.

?Walker’s dangerous attempts to undermine women in Wisconsin tell us all we need to know about his agenda for women across the country ? it’s extreme, outrageous and profoundly wrong.?

The president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Cecile Richards also slammed Walker,

“Scott Walker seems to be making crass and insulting remarks on a daily basis about abortion.

?It’s impossible to understand why Scott Walker thinks that being pregnant as the result of rape or incest gets easier after a couple of months, but what’s crystal clear is that he has no regard or respect for women’s health.?

How on earth can Walker expect to get the vote of women when he clearly thinks so little of them? Maybe the doctor dropped him on his head when he was born.
