Six-Year-Old Girl In Pennsylvania Saves Trapped Kitten, Becomes Local Hero (Video)

It’s not often a six-year-old gets to be a big hero, but one little girl in Lancaster Township, Pennsylvania, earned the title by saving a trapped kitten.

The girl, identified as?Janeysha, saw that the tiny cat was trapped in a storm drain and her mother called the local fire department.

But when firefighters arrived, they realized there was a problem: the confined space of the drain did not allow for an adult to go into the drain to retrieve the kitten.

That’s when?Janeysha volunteered to be lowered into the drain and save the frightened baby cat. As she recalls:

?I thought the kitten was going to bite me, but I picked it up softly and I gave it to the firefighters.”

Appropriately, the rescued kitten was named Stormy and is now available for adoption at a local shelter.
