This is his second arrest in 72 hours. This time for a restraining order violation.

McDonald’s first arrest was for domestic violence and child endangerment after an early morning altercation with his former fiancee and son.

A few hours after the first incident the police tracked McDonald to the house of former teammate Justin Smith.

The Bears?then released him.

McDonald violated a restraining order that was placed on him after his altercation on Monday.

Authorities later found him at a local restaurant.

Jeff Dickerson over at?ESPN had this to say about the incident,

McDonald’s attorney, Steve Defilippis, told ESPN’s Josina Anderson on Wednesday night that McDonald

“was never served with a restraining order, though he was told to stay away from his fianc?e.”

Defilippis also?said that before going to the house, McDonald was told his fiancee would not be there.?Also adding, in?defense of McDonald,

“Today my investigator contacted her and confirmed that she was in Santa Cruz and Ray went over to the apartment to meet the investigator to let him in so that he could get photographs of this allegedly broken door, and lo and behold the cops show up and arrest him.” And insisting that his client was there “for a legitimate purpose and the police show up and arrest him.?And knowing these facts the police still have insisted upon keeping him in custody.”

Even if there was not a legitimate restraining order, who in their right mind would venture back into a situation in which they had been arrested for merely hours prior? While the law may say that no formal order was given it comes back to stupidity.

Either way McDonald’s career is a domino effect. A once-touted prospect from the University of Florida on field play has been deeply overshadowed by his lack of control and emotional maturity. With this being his fourth brush since August it’s safe to say people like Ray McDonald have no place in professional sport.
