Discrimination Is A Learned Behavior – Watch Xenophobic Kid Racial Rant

Discrimination and its cause, Racism, have touched everyone in American at some point?in time. It does not matter how white you are or whatever shade of brown you might be. There must be a conversation held?to heal this corrosive element in our society. As humans, we enter this world with no xenophobia whatsoever.

I grew up in a small farming community in North Carolina, and my early childhood had very little connection with people of color. As a child growing up in the 60s I remember seeing the riots and the upheaval of those times.

I can remember my racist Grandfather shouting for joy when Martin Luther King, Jr. got shot. I remember grown-ups making racist remarks and telling racist jokes. However, what I remember the most was thinking what a cool dude Martin Luther King, Jr. was and I?could not understand the indifference my racist family had towards him. It was very confusing. I pointedly remember thinking that “persons of color” probably felt the same about me and in the recesses of my mind did not blame them one bit.

I have had some of my very close friends of color tell me that it was more alluring to be of lighter skin than dark and to look more European. Of course, these were all just misconceptions because all humans are alluring no matter the skin color or shade all of us personify our unquie charm and elegance.

The reality of the world we live in today is that we all have and will face social challenges stemming from discrimination. In this writer’s view it’s how we handle this remonstrance that creates a snapshot into one’s ethos.

Discrimination Is A Learned Behavior

Discrimination and its cause, Racism, are learned, mostly through social brainwashing passed down from one generation to the next in families. Moreover, it’s easier to go along to get along than to take a stand against these pernicious social norms.

I can’t think of any better example than the following video. Someone taught?this young boy this rancor. He was not born with this depravity. What’s sad is that?there are millions more just like him.
