Conservatives love to point out problems in black communities; it’s almost like a pastime for them.? They like to breakdown statistical data on blacks in prison, committing crimes, born out of wedlock, etc. — anytime there’s an incident which triggers social unrest in a black community.
The media is also complicit in perpetuating these negative stereotypes. Whenever there is social unrest in poor black communities, usually due to real or even perceived injustice, the media seems to have a very different approach to covering those events. They make it seem as if black people are the only people who destroy their own communities.
However, what they don’t seem to opine a great deal on are the white riots. Those little “kids will be kids” incidents seem to not warrant the same level of scrutiny for some odd reason.
