The Daily Dot described the trio’s performances by saying:

“Flying in from Japan like a flaming battle axe covered in glitter and bubble gum is Babymetal, a band whose pitch-perfect execution of an absolutely insane concept has the potential to instantly banish any thoughts of ‘it’s all been done’ from your brain.”

The three girls,?Suzuka (Su-metal), 16, Moa (Moametal) and Yui (Yuimetal), both 14, fuse death metal sound with pop lyrics and Japanese street fashion. Their explosive performances are drawing huge crowds and creating controversy among heavy metal fandom with their commercial appeal.

What can’t be denied, however, is their sound. Backed by Kami Band, the ripping guitar riffs combined with catchy beats and an awe-inspiring stage show are raising eyebrows and driving album sales. The girls have grabbed the attention and admiration of metal veterans like Metallica, and performed on the Death Match Tour in 2013, and most recently, opened for Lady Gaga in the U.S.

So sit back, watch the video, and I dare you not to catch yourself singing the song in your head for awhile. Long live Babymetal!
