There has been a lot of buzz about Senator Bernie Sanders making a run at the presidency. Most believe that Hillary Clinton has the nomination locked up, and that Sanders could be her running mate.
However, if the public has a chance to see more debates like this between Sanders and republicans like Senator Rand Paul, then I think Clinton could be in for a tougher fight then most people believe.
A few years ago Sanders took Paul to task over his opposition to a 2 billion dollar program that would target feeding seniors as well as other vital services for our nation’s senior population.
When you listen to Sanders’ arguments for this program and Paul’s “counter points,” it’s almost comedic how cold-hearted and ideological Paul is. It was like watching a movie with a republican caricature rather than a real person. How anyone can defend this way of thinking is beyond my ability to process in any logical fashion. The capacity for elder abuse and neglect by republicans like Rand Paul is simply astounding.
Paul even compared the government providing food and services to the elderly to slavery! Okay I better stop writing before I start cursing.
