Carly Fiorina Forgot To Register CarlyFiorina.org, And That’s Gonna Be A Problem

In case you missed it earlier today, former failed Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is now officially a candidate for the 2016 GOP Presidential nomination. So it’s a pretty good day in her world.

But Fiorina and her campaign staff did fail to make one important preparation for her run at the White House: They left the web domain name CarlyFiorina.org unclaimed, and now someone is intent on making her pay big time for that oversight.

Should you direct your web browser to carlyfiorina.org, the first thing you’ll see is a bunch?frowning emoticons with a message that reads:

“Carly Fiorina failed to register this domain. So I’m using it to tell you how many people she laid off at Hewlett-Packard.”

Ouch! No matter how you look at it, that’s gotta hurt.

Of course, the web site is absolutely right: Fiorina laid off thousands of workers during her six-year tenure at H-P. In the neighborhood of 30,000 people. And now she says she wants to do for America what she did for Hewlett-Packard. Hmm…she might want to rethink that line.

Fiorina’s campaign, in a statement from ?deputy campaign manager?Sarah Isgur Flores, responded?with this pablum:

“It’s always unfortunate when someone loses a job. Carly worked hard to save as many jobs as possible. If HP had gone under during the recession — and it was by no means a foregone conclusion it would have survived the recession — then every employee at HP would have lost their job. In the end, the company succeeded and grew because of her tough choices.”

That’s the best you can do to defend your candidate? I’m not sure how much the campaign is paying you, Ms. Flores, but I do know this: It’s way too much.

Fiorina is not the only GOP candidate for President who is facing opposition from websites carrying their name.?Jebbushforpresident.com ?is owned by a married same-sex couple on Oregon and is being used to disseminate?information about LGBT rights.
