New Report Shows Republicans Leaked Doctored Benghazi Emails

The GOP’s obsession with the State Department’s Benghazi?so-called failings has been disproven by a new CBS report. The report shows that Republicans released altered emails to reinforce their campaign to take down Hillary Clinton’s credibility.

The report came out just one day after The White House released?100 pages of Benghazi emails, according to the CBS report. It showed that the GOP leaked a far different batch of emails. Specifically, two emails from National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes and State Department Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland showed alterations.

The GOP’s altered version of Rhodes’ Benghazi email read:

“We must make sure that the talking points reflect all agency equities, including those of the State Department, and we don’t want to undermine the FBI investigation.”

The White House version of that same email read:

“We need to resolve this in a way that respects all of the relevant equities, particularly the investigation.”

The GOP’s altered version of Nuland’s?Benghazi email read:

?The penultimate point is a paragraph talking about all the previous warnings provided by the Agency (CIA) about al-Qaeda’s presence and activities of al-Qaeda.”

The White House version of that same email read:

“The penultimate point could be abused by members to beat the State Department for not paying attention to Agency warnings.”

Mother Jones pointed out that the Republicans’ interim report?somehow included the correct emails. According to “The Huffington Post,” this correction is just more evidence that the Republicans’ weren’t just incompetent ? they were malicious in nature.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah)?told Fox News:

“While these hundred are good and they shed light on what happened, we have nearly 25,000 that they haven’t released.”

CBS is not alone in its chastisement of the GOP. A CNN report?was the first to reveal the discrepancy between the White House Benghazi emails and the emails leaked by the GOP.

The Republican’s doctored Benghazi emails hit the news cycle prior to the official version. That means the GOP’S plan to malign the State Department had ample time to fester in the public’s minds.

It is one thing to honestly question the Democrat front-runner in the 2016 presidential election. It is quite another to make up the evidence.
