It’s true! U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has formally announced that he is a candidate for the 2016 election!. Sanders is an Independent who caucuses with Democrats and is running on the Democrat ticket.
His entry into the race means that Hillary Clinton will have a formidable opponent challenging her for the left wing of the party.
According to the Washington Post, the presidential primary will serve to bolster Senator Hillary Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) campaign and,
?Engage with the national Democratic infrastructure or act as a ?direct foil? to Clinton in the early primaries and caucuses.?
As the longest-serving Independent member of Congress, Sanders has been a vocal critic of the influence that large corporations have on the political process.
I like Sanders? flavor of Democrat. He favors an Independent?Scandinavian-style government, which is renowned for its superlative usage of tax payers? money. And Sanders says it all when he ?talks? billionaire:
“How can I get by on one house? I need five houses, 10 houses! I need three jet planes to take me all over the world!”
When Sanders says, ?I am not a billionaire,? I am much relieved. Finally, a person who understands what it is to be one of us.
