I’m so enjoying the deliciousness that is the GOP eating their own in the budding 2016 presidential primaries. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz have bashed John McCain (who isn’t running but has a bit of power) and McCain hasn’t disappointed us — he’s hitting back. From Mediaite:
Shortly after responding to Rand Paul calling him?an Obama ?lapdog,? Senator John McCain talked further about the swipe with Fox’s Neil Cavuto. And McCain really came out swinging, declaring that ?Senator Paul is the worst possible candidate, of the 20 or so that are running, on the most important issue, which is national security.?
Sen. McCain has said that Rand Paul has been much more wrong about foreign policy and McCain is completely dismissive of Paul’s calls for action in foreign policy.
The record is very clear that he simply does not have an understanding about the needs and the threats of the United States National Security.

When asked by Cavuto if he REALLY thinks Rand Paul is the “worst,” McCain affirmed that YES he absolutely is. I don’t know. It’s like trying to pick the worst rotten egg. They’re all freakin’ rotten!
McCain?hopes that??good sense would prevail here” and he said that Ted Cruz would do a better job than Paul. And he’s no Cruz fan, either. He insists, however, that he will support the nominee of the Republican Party, regardless of who it is.
“I am a loyal Republican.”
