Robert Tomanovich has placed two nooses and a Confederate flag outside his home, along with a sign which proudly proclaims:

“I ain’t coming down.”

One neighbor, Nicole Behrendt, says her concern is for the safety of children in the neighborhood:

?It’s a tree that is easily climbable. Any kid could climb the tree and hang himself.?

When asked to comment on why he had placed such controversial symbols of racism on his lawn, Tomanovich refused to say anything and went inside his home. But an employee of his tree service admitted that he had added a second noose shortly after the neighbors began to complain. A for those who complained about the display, he had this message:

?I love it. Screw ’em.”

The employee, who refused to give his name, was also asked if Tomanovich planned to take the display down:

“Hell no. We’re gonna put more up.”

Mr. Tomanovich’s wife, Lindy, said her husband isn’t racist and gave this explanation for the display:

?Robert has a friend that died in that way (hanging himself), and that’s in memory of his friend.”

When asked about her neighbors concerns and complaints, Ms. Tomanovich said:

?Maybe they got too much time on their hands. There’s no crime in hanging a noose.?

Sadly, she appears to be correct, as local police say no laws have been violated and they are powerless to compel Mr. Tomanovich remove the nooses and Confederate flag from his lawn.
