Loony Ted Cruz Calls For Followers To Kill Government

Oh great, now Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is encouraging gun owners to shoot the government. I thought this presidential candidate couldn’t go lower, but I should have known otherwise.

In a fundraising email?last week,?Cruz said:

“The 2nd Amendment to the Constitution isn’t for just protecting hunting rights, and it’s not only to safeguard your right to target practice. It is a Constitutional right to protect your children, your family, your home, our lives, and to serve as the ultimate check against governmental tyranny — for the protection of liberty.”

Is it just me? Or do you see crazy Grandpa Munster from the 1960’s TV show, The Munsters?when you see Cruz, too? And every wacko comment the senator makes just conjures up Grandpa M’s image for me once again. This talk about taking out government is just the last in a series of over-the-edge remarks.

The senator says his followers should use their ?2nd Amendment against tyranny.? Gun owners know what the 2nd Amendment is, but do they all understand the meaning of ?tyranny??

Will they believe Cruz is encouraging people to murder some random governmental person when they feel bullied? Does he mean for his followers to take out a bunch of government workers if they feel oppressed? Or is he calling for full-out revolt against our government, much like the Civil War?

I certainly do not know. But this presidential candidate is playing to the ?insurrectionist? movement, which fervent gun owners and National Rifle Association (NRA) members endorse.

This movement is a favorite of the far-right militia people as the FBI will tell us, people on their watch lists. All it takes is one conspiracy lunatic to turn?the overt political arm of that militia movement.

Cruz is the only loon in the pond on this issue, fortunately. The other presidential candidates?want nothing to do with it.

Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC.), who is toying with the idea of running in 2016 said,

“I’m not looking for an insurrection. I’m looking to defeat Hillary. We’re not going to out-gun her.”

I think Cruz’s words haven’t caught up with his logic. If his followers kill government, who would a potential President Cruz lead?
