WATCH: 1991 Commercial For Sizzler Is Exploding With Intense Patriotism

I don’t have cable, so I miss out on commercials. So, as weird as it is, I enjoy watching hilarious/bad commercials.

The restaurant of America!
The restaurant of America!

I’m a bit young to remember this commercial, and I’ve never experienced a Sizzler. Is it like a Golden Corral or something? However, this commercial from 1991 (look at all that big hair and those shoulder pads!), which has resurfaced on the web, makes me want to dine at Sizzlers while saluting the flag, wearing an American flag shirt, and singing the national anthem between bites of delicious steak. The commercial is an almost five minute long patriotic masterpiece that honors our love for buffets.

Go Sizzler! Go America!

*Edit: A fellow writer (who is older) advised me that we were dealing with the Gulf War during this time period, which would explain the patriotism. Pretty genius from a marketing aspect huh?
