Criminals are writing code that infects your computer with “ransomware.” Ransomware is like malware, but instead of just stealing data and just being a general nuisance, this program is designed to extort ransom money from its victims. So, you can basically wake up in the morning, check your emails and find that you have become a ransom victim, just like that.
Many mobile devices have also been hit by ransomware viruses. Computer and mobile device users must set up frequent back ups of their data in order to prevent data loss.
