Texas DMV Pulls Vanity Plate For ‘Hidden Message’

Some people just have no sense of humor whatsoever. For example, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Safeer Hasaan has had the same plate for three years: 370H55V. The plate is on his?Lamborghini, but now the Texas DMV says Hasaan has to surrender it or they will suspend it, which would be the same as driving with no plates on the car.

The reason for the revocation of the plate? Well, Texas DMV says:

?It has been determined that the personalization is offensive.”

Because, as you can see from the photo above, the plate, when viewed upside down (Does anyone drive upside down?!) refers to a specific part of the human anatomy. Perhaps if you’re reading it upside down, that would make you the body part the plate is naming.

The DMV rule for recalling a plate and taking it out of service reads as so:

?Would it invoke a response from other drivers that would be driving past that vehicle.?

Again, only if you drive upside down or your head is where your, ahem, other lower located body part should be.

Also prohibited are plates which make any reference to sex acts, sexual body parts, ?excretory functions,?and their byproducts are also verboten. Hateful, derogatory references toward people or specific groups are rejected, as are threats of violence or harm, the DMV says.

Mr. Hasaan says he may well appeal the ruling of the DMV because:

?I definitely think the state is overreaching their boundaries.?

Or, to put it in a language Texas DMV will better understand, they’re being a real?370H55V about the whole matter.
