In case some of you don’t know about the Westboro Baptist Church, let me give you a brief history. It was started on November 27, 1955. Its founder was Fred Phelps, who died in March of 2014. This church became infamous when it began its ?God hates fags? campaign in 1991.
It also began protesting the funerals of fallen soldiers stating that ?God hates America.? They like to switch up the hate by going to the good ole’ stand-bye: Catholics and Jews.
And don’t think Westboro left out Islam; they have recently formed a very uncomfortable alliance in shared bigotry with Tea Party conservatives. They have held protests against Islam with wonderfully creative signs like ?God Hates Islam.?
Last year British comedian Adam Hills challenged the church to protest Islam in Iraq, where ISIS is still currently controlling large parts of the country. The church accepted his challenge, but sadly never seemed to follow through. However there is still hope they will right?
This is a video of a gay YouTube celeb by the name of Riyadh K calling the Westboro Baptist Church after Shirley Phelps –?high ranking member and daughter of founder Fred Phelps –??left an?unkind comment on his page. His reaction to their hatred was pure magic. Enjoy.
