Wingnut Mike Huckabee: Gays Won’t Be Happy Until ‘There Are No More Churches’

It would be easy to dismiss Mike Huckabee as just another right wing nutjob who spouts off when his string is pulled, but keep in mind this particular loose cannon is planning to seek the 2016 GOP nomination and has even been running first or second in some polls!

The former Arkansas Governor is now on record as saying that the real intent of the LGBT community in America is to eliminate all churches. Yes, you read that correctly. While appearing on?the Family Research Council’s ?Washington Watch? program this week, Huckabee said he was angered by Walmart’s decision to oppose the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) in Arkansas. And he was just getting warmed up with that. He declared the controversy over “religious freedom” to be a “phony crisis” and then said:

?It’s been manufactured by the left, just as was the war on women. There was no war on women. The left has gotten very good on creating a crisis, something to divide the country, something to create this sense in which ?we’ve got to go after these conservatives because they are trying to trample over our rights.??

Yeah, because conservatives never ever try to trample on anyone’s rights, do they, Mike? Excuse me while I laugh uncontrollably.

To this initial bit of nonsense, Huckabee then added the flawed literary allusion of George Orwell’s classic novel “1984.” Like the totalitarian scenario presented by Orwell, Huckabee posited:

?It is a classic example of ? really a page out of ?1984,? when what things mean are the opposite of what they really are. And that’s what I’m seeing here is that in the name of tolerance, there’s intolerance. In the name of diversity, there’s uniformity. In the name of acceptance, there’s true discrimination.?

Yes, and don’t forget that war is security and we must at all times be at war with all nations in order to guarantee that the ruling class remains in power. Kind of like what the Republicans do when they’re in office: start endless wars and warn of threats wherever you look. Trust me, Mike, Orwell was talking about people like you, not people who simply want the same rights everyone else already has.

But Huckabee wasn’t quite through with his nonsensical verbal gyrations. “Where will it stop?”?The host, Tony Perkins, asked rhetorically. To which Huckabee replied:

?It won’t stop until there are no more churches, until there are no more people who are spreading the Gospel,?and I’m talking now about the unabridged, unapologetic Gospel that is really God’s truth.?

Truth? There’s none of that in anything that comes from Mike Huckabee’s mouth.
