Sadly, American corporate culture rewards self-sacrifice, not efficiency. I don’t manage that way, and I’ve never worked that way. I want results, not a tally of how many hours someone sits in front of a computer.
I’ve always been someone who can get stuff done more efficiently and quickly than most people. Not boasting. Just saying. Unfortunately, most people are still stuck behind that computer in a chair, working for someone else. Your boss wants you to LOOK busy.
