Woman Throws Molotov Cocktail At Anti-Abortion Prayer Vigil

We are at war right here at home. Now both pro- and anti-abortion supporters use weapons of war.

The woman held the bomb in her hand as she drove her car toward the Planned Parenthood clinic in South Austin. It was a Molotov cocktail. She barely noticed the forms in the anti-abortion prayer vigil as the car approached the clinic. Then it was time ? she lit the bomb and pitched it out!

Acting almost automatically, anti-abortion activist?Ruth Allwein told the officials that she stamped out the flame and removed the wick. Whether or not Allwein, of the Texas Alliance For Life, understood the risk to herself is uncertain. Regardless, she is a hero.

The bottle bomb was filled with highly flammable Gumout, which is a gas treatment. And the flaming wick burned about an eight-inch circle in the grass before the activists put it out.

Why would anyone do this? We do not know the bomber’s reasoning. But it is clear that she intended to do serious damage to the people holding the prayer vigil.

Fortunately the glass bottle did not shatter when it landed. If it had, the protesters would have suffered serious burns and even death.

Molotov cocktails are the weapons of ?guerrilla warfare and violent rioters,? according to the Urban Dictionary. Polish people in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943 used these bombs against the light tanks during World War II.

“The well-aimed bottles hit the tank. The flames spread quickly. The blast of the explosion is heard. The machine stands motionless. The crew is burned alive.

Are we at war over abortion? It seems so. Wichita Planned Parent Clinic owner, Dr. George Tiller, was shot once by an anti-abortion advocate, later he was shot and killed as he worshiped in his church. So this war hits both sides.

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas President Ken Lambrecht?told KVUE:

?We are just very sad this happened and we are thankful no one was hurt.?The health and safety of anyone coming in or near Planned Parenthood Health Center is of the utmost importance to us.?

Who could do this? Melanie Marie Toney (52) was in a car with its license plate covered by cardboard. Yet the activists saw enough to identify her. Toney denied throwing the bomb at first, but later accepted responsibility.

She was charged?with:

?With felony aggravated assault, and was being held in lieu of $25,000 bond. The South Austin Planned Parenthood has surveillance cameras, security guards and high fences in place to protect patients and staff.?

I don’t understand why people kill people in attempt to stop abortions any more than I understand why this woman was willing to commit such a horrendous act.

The word ?war? originally comes from a German word (werran/verwirren) that means ?to confuse, mix up.? The war for and against abortion seems appropriately confused and mixed up, which serves no one.

Let’s look for some common sense.
