Laughter is good medicine. Watching Pat Robertson extoll his nonsense daily on The 700 Club?will afford you ample opportunity for true gut-busting laughter. So, fix your soul and extend your health by watching pure and unbridled idiocy if you can stand it.

The news is teeming with reports of?the horrific crash of the Germanwings airliner in the French Alps and the initial findings of the investigation into why it crashed. While most people thought about the families having to deal with the loss of a loved one (or several loved ones), Robertson’s senseless dialog went like this,

“What happened to that plane that crashed into the French Alps? Well, they’ve begun to find out. The pilot went to the lavatory and was soon locked out of the cockpit. He pounded on the door, begging to come in. But the door was not opened. The co-pilot then takes the plane, pushes it into a dive and crashes it. The passengers are screaming as the plane went down. The pilot is yelling.?

Just to make the conversation more interesting, he continued,

?What a terrible tragedy. Was that co-pilot a Muslim? Was he suicidal? What was it about him??

WAIT!! WHAT!?!?!?

Did he just say what I thought I heard him say?

He most certainly did.?Robertson had the information about the co-pilot already. He knew that the co-pilot had been identified as a German citizen with no terrorist ties. He KNEW that, but he still had to suggest that the co-pilot must have somehow been a Muslim because, you know, all people who do horrible things in this world must be Muslim.

I guess he doesn’t remember Eric Rudolf or Timothy McVeigh, and he hasn’t heard about the Texas lady lobbing a Molotov cocktail at the Planned Parenthood clinic just the other day. I won’t even bother to list the multitude of school shootings. The fact is,?a whole lot of?terroristic acts have been committed by white, supposedly ‘Christian’ Americans in the?recent past.

What type of cognitive dissonance keeps this man from being able to comprehend that the co-pilot was a German citizen with no ties to any terrorist organization? No ties. Whatever happened up there in the sky above the Alps may never be known. The fact that was already known before he made his senseless comment, and the fact that won’t change,?is that the pilot was NOT a Muslim.

Why does anyone listen to this bigoted buffoon?

He did (finally)?go on to extend condolences to the families, eventually.

I always wonder when the folks that have a vested interest in “The 700 Club” will take away this man’s microphone. It is pretty?obvious to everyone, except perhaps?Robertson and a few dedicated followers, that his time is passed. He makes less and less sense each week and seems to be working hard to destroy the brand that he spent his life building.

Watch the video if you think you can stomach it.
