‘Hannity’ Guest Declares Feminism Makes Women Vulnerable

It never ceases to amaze me how much Fox News hates the idea of feminism. They even go so far as to invite guests onto their “news shows” who will take potshots at the idea of women being equal to men

On Sean Hannity’s show the other evening, Gavin McInnes, the co-founder of Vice, decided he would join the hit parade as part of Hannity’s annual look at Spring Break in Florida. During a video piece, hundreds of scantily-clad young girls were shown partying, which led me to wonder: Do Hannity and Fox News do these pieces each and every spring so they can show girls in bikinis and call it “news”?

McInnes, who is quite clearly not an expert on much of anything remarked:

?This is a perfect example of liberals? cognitive dissonance, where they say, ?Everything’s cool ? hey, it’s spring break, people party, women are the same as men,? and when you have that stupid lie in your mind, you end up making women more vulnerable.”

Wait, because it gets even better when McInnes decides to channel his inner caveman and?preach on how men are superior to women:

?These women are not as strong as men, and when you let them go down there, you’re a terrible parent. If you let your son go down there, you’re a fairly bad parent. Sons are different than daughters, and modern spring break in 2015 isn’t even in the same universe as 10 years ago.?We’re different ? sorry, equality is a myth. Women aren’t as strong as men, they can’t even hold their booze as well as men. Of course, it’s true ? don’t be ridiculous.?

Then McInnes decides he will slag all teenagers in America and accuse them of being drug addicts:

?Forget social media, this is the post-pharmaceutical age. These kids are on Adderall, which is literally amphetamines, exact same thing, these kids are on Oxycontin, which is the exact same thing as heroin. This is a totally different drug day. Back in the ?70s and ?80s, it was a spliff. Now these kids are coming in there very familiar with speed, heroin, and MDMA.?

From the way ?Mr. McInnes was ranting and raving, it leads one to believe he too might be ingesting some incredibly powerful pharmaceuticals.

What I find most disturbing–and amusing–about all this is how conservatives, like Hannity and McInnes, perpetuate the myth that women need men to protect and nurture them. It’s 2015 guys. Women need men about as much as a fish needs a bicycle. So how about giving it a rest.
