Hillary Clinton, coy presidential candidate, wants to send adults to camps ? oh no! Concentration camps? Internment camps? Terrorists camps? Wine camps? Band camps?
It is true that Clinton did say she wants to send adults to camps in her last paid speech at the American Camp Association in New Jersey with an?audience?of hundreds of summer camp professionals.
Her comment does make a remarkable sound bite for the wackos. Of course, right-wing conspiracy theorists will have you believing Hillary is going to imprison you ? so don’t vote for her!
On her show,?Rachel Maddow?envisioned adult camps where there are red cabins for conservatives? I could see it! I could put most of my family in the red cabins. And I would go meet other dems in the blue cabins, hoping I would be one of the popular camp ?kids.?
The camp would have a yellow cabin for the few who are not red and are not blue, if I remember my primary colors ? the independents. And I could see a glass cabin for those rare politicos who do not throw rocks.
The one camp I went to was Camp Chippewa. I learned how to put up teepees, hiked a bazillion miles, and got a horrendous sunburn. That is also where I learned too late that if you poke at the teepee above your cot during a rainstorm, the water will drip down, soaking your sleeping bag.
But Clinton wasn’t talking about bad camps. She was talking about an adult fun camp. Alright! Now that sounds like a plan! Where do I sign up?
The possible president said,
“We really need to have?camps for adults. ? None of the serious stuff. None of the life challenge stuff. More fun. I think we have a huge ‘fun deficit’ in America.
?”We need some reminder about life skills from time to time, maybe some enrichment, certainly some time outdoors.”
Well that makes sense. Most people are racing from job one to job two or to pick up the kids for the sports and lessons run. We don’t have time for fun. But we yearn for happier times. So it is no surprise that?#HillaryFunCamp?is trending on Twitter.

There are days that an internment camp doesn’t sound soooo bad. Life can get you down and wrap its octopus legs around you until you think you’ll drown. But a fun camp would be heaven.
