Update 4:07 am EST.

ABC News is reporting that there were indeed two police officers shot outside the Ferguson Police Department during protests after the resignation of Police Chief Tom Jackson after the damning Justice Department report that revealedwidespread racial bias” within the city. This makes Jackson the sixth person to be fired or resign from their position.

ABC News reported:

“A St. Louis County officer, 41, was struck in the shoulder, while a Webster Groves police officer, 32, was struck in the face, county police chief John Belmar said.”

Their conditions at this time are unknown; however, they were reported to be conscious.

John Belmar went on further to state to reporters:

“These police officers were standing there, and they were shot just because they were police officers… We have seen in law enforcement that this is a very, very, very dangerous environment for the officers to work in regarding the amount of gunfire that we have experienced up there.”

Below is more raw footage?at the time of the shooting posted to Youtube by a spectator. They can be heard saying the shooter was shooting from “the hill.”

We will continue to watch for updates as more information comes to light.
