Tired Of Snowballs, Senator Inhofe Now Tosses Scripture To Deny Climate Change

No doubt you recall Oklahoma Republican Senator James Inhofe tossing a snowball onto the floor of the Senate chamber last week in a futile attempt to disprove that climate change is real. But did you know his usual defense of his position is the Bible?

In his book (this guy can read and write?!), “The Greatest Hoax,” Inhofe tells readers they can relax and rest assured nothing is going to happen to the environment because the Lord Himself has promised as much. Inhofe says:

“I take my religion seriously. [T]his is what a lot of alarmists forget: God is still up there, and He promised to maintain the seasons and that cold and heat would never cease as long as the earth remains.”

Well then! Case closed! Next issue, please.

Keep in mind that James Inhofe is more than just another Senator in the upper chamber of the U.S. Congress. He is the chairman of the?Environment and Public Works Committee. That means his committee oversees any and all legislation regarding climate change, global warming, the environment, etc.. But he’s got God on his side, so I’m sure everything will be just fine, don’t you?

Need more proof from the distinguished gentleman from Oklahoma that there’s no need to fret over climate change? He’s only too happy to share his source material with you: Genesis 8.22, which reads:

“As long as the earth remains.?There will be springtime and harvest,?Cold and heat, winter and summer.”

How can anyone possibly argue with that kind of perfect, crystalline logic? Better question: How can anyone hope to have a reasoned debate with a chucklehead as dense as Inhofe?

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with reading the Bible and even quoting it for your own personal assurance and comfort. But when one uses it so justify the unjustifiable, it makes that person look like an ignorant jackass.

Or, to quote the Scripture, which Senator Inhofe is so fond of, right there in Proverbs 13:16 we are warned:

“Every prudent man acts with knowledge, But a fool lays open his folly.”
