In Futile Attempt To Humiliate Daughter, Mother Sticks Foot In Mouth

When Melany Joyce Alexander, from Florida, paired the emotional aggression of attempting to humiliate her young daughter with physical cruelty, beating the girl with a leather belt and leaving marks on her young daughter’s entire upper torso, school officials intervened and the affair ended with charges for child abuse ? and one of the funniest cases of mockery I have seen. On the mother.

In her obvious rage over her daughter’s low grades, Ms. Alexander exercised her incredible lack of maternal?skills, common sense, self control, and above all, English.

“My name is ______. I currently have all F’s in all of my classes. I am not aloud to have a boyfriend no time soon. So back off before I get another good woopin like I got last night. Also I can no longer have any friends until all of my F’s are all brought up to C’s and up!!! So unless you are helping me with this goal…back off!!! My eating French fries and being a social butterfly is over because I know why my parents send me to school. I now know the importance of my education. I will learn. I will listen to my teachers and be respectful, at all times. I will do these things because I am failing _____ due to my social life. Want to be my friend 🙂 Help me by not!!!”

The American culture of child shaming has been proven to be particularly harmful plenty of times ? It’s a vicious way to bare someone’s mistakes as if humiliation could be used as an educational device.

It can’t.

Shaming is a facet of emotional abuse and causes long term, devastating effects. Young people should have the opportunity to reach out to the adults in their lives for guidance, understanding, protection, and, above all, empathy. It is through empiricism and practice that we humans learn, and denying the prospect of making mistakes without demeaning consequences creates an environment of insecurity, aggression, resentment, self-doubt, and anxiety.
Putting it simply, parents who bully their children create bully children. This sends the message that disrespect at any level is fair if it is to obtain something you want. These same parents tend to demand a level of respect from their children that they will never get.

Dear ?mom?. The joke is on you. And so is the humiliation. #FAIL

Ms. Alexander posted bail on Saturday and The Department of Children & Families is said to be investigating, but the poor girl remains in her custody.
