The Supreme Court may want to be mighty careful when they issue their ruling on same-sex marriage later this year. According to well-known anti-gay activist Scott Lively, should the justices rule in favor of gay marriage, the Antichrist will appear on the world stage by September. Cue laugh track.
But Lively isn’t kidding. According to him, a favorable ruling for same-sex marriage equality, which is expected, will bring about the end of the world. Lively argues that the United States can:
“…expect some sort of severe judgment to fall on America in conjunction with this process, (but this) coming calamity will almost certainly be a part of some larger act of God’s punishment on the entire world, most likely the Great Tribulation prophesied by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse.”
No, wait. It gets even better as Lively becomes completely cranked up and pours on the full compliment of paranoid crap. Gay marriage will let loose the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in the form of “gay theology,” which will then lead to the “massive harvest of the grim reaper.”
Here’s Lively puking out his fire and brimstone:
“I don’t think there is any question, Biblically, that the cultural celebration of ‘gay marriage’ portends judgment from God. The only real question in my mind is whether it truly signals the imminent ‘beginning of sorrows’ or is just another step in the path leading to God’s wrath at a later time. God is long-suffering, even to the most wicked of societies and He does not act until their iniquity is ?full.?
Keep in mind this is the same Scott Lively who?was behind the radical anti-gay proposal in Uganda which called for the execution of homosexuals. This guy has a long and dark history of urging punishment for those who don’t agree with his version of what is right and wrong.
I’ve read the Bible. Several times. And nowhere in it do I see any mention of same-sex marriage leading to the Apocalypse. Apparently Brother Lively is reading a version of the Good Book that I don’t have access to. See, in my version, Jesus taught compassion, love, and understanding. In Lively’s, there is only room for cruelty, hatred, and ignorance.
