NV Assemblywoman Wants To Arm ‘Young, Hot Little Girls’ On College Campuses

As Americans, we are naturally inclined to believe that every problem has a solution. For example, we all know sexual assault is a problem on college campuses across the United States. How should we deal with this issue? Education? Discussion? Information? Well, Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore thinks she has found the answer.?She wants to?allow college students to carry concealed weapons, especially the “young, hot little girls.”

Let’s take a moment and look at exactly what Ms. Fiore is advocating:

?If these young, hot little girls on campus have a firearm, I wonder how many men will want to assault them. The sexual assaults that are occurring would go down once these sexual predators get a bullet in their head.?

Shortly after Fiore was quoted by the New York Times saying that college campuses should be turned into the Wild West, she attempted to partially walk back her comments:

?That may not be the most eloquent way to phrase it; however, I stand wholeheartedly by that sentiment because I want every citizen, whether they’re on a college campus or not, to have the right to defend him or herself from sexual assault.?So I ask: ?What’s your point? Are you opposed to the right to self defense or are you arguing that rape is the new normal of attending?college???

No, rape is not right, should not be condoned, and is not the new norm on a college campus or anywhere else for that matter, but is the way to deal with the problem by arming everyone to the teeth? Shannon Watts,?founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, doesn’t think so. She?calls?Fiore’s ideas ?simply shameful,” and adds that legislators with an “A” ranking from the National Rifle Association (NRA):

??…are just doing the bidding of the gun lobby as they continue their push for more guns everywhere, no questions asked.?

Recent surveys of college students, university presidents, and chiefs of police indicate that the solution to this particular problem is not the proliferation of firearms at institutions of higher education.

Republicans in Nevada control both houses of the state legislature and Governor Brian Sandoval is also a member of the GOP, so Fiore’s bill is expected to have a good chance of passing and being signed into law.
