Could Bare Breasts Solve Tension In The Middle East? Comedienne Chelsea Handler Sure Hopes So!

Oh, all that non-stop fighting in the Middle East. Israel against Palestine! Arabs fighting Jews! Matzah balls versus maqluba! Is there anything that could make those angry men put down their weapons and think positively for once?

Well, comedienne Chelsea Handler might not have found a sure-thing solution, but at least a positive distraction. To her Instagram account on Jan. 28, she posted a photo from her recent trip to Tel Aviv, where she’s performing at a fundraiser for Sheba Medical Center. And the distraction could stem from a topless photo of soon-to-be-40 actress atop a camel. (To avoid what might otherwise constitute an R rating of the pic, Handler strategically used stick-on Israeli flags to merit a mere PG-13.)

Here’s Handler’s caption with photo below:

“A Muslim allowed a topless Jew to sit on his camel. And we say we can’t live side by side? I say we try and we can and we will. And, you don’t even have to be topless. L’chaim.”

This wasn’t the first photo political protest by the former host of E! network’s ?Chelsea Lately? and author of Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea. And not the first topless one, either. In Oct. 2013, for example, she mimicked Vladimir Putin’s picture of the Russian prime minister’s shirtless horseback ride. (Again with a PG-13 rating, of course.)

Personal sentiment may play a part in this latest photo, though. Handler is the daughter of a Jewish father and Mormon mother, and was raised in the Reform Judaism faith.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Handler’s visit to Israel was filmed as part of an upcoming docuseries on Netflix. She’ll begin a new Netflix talk show next year.
