Chilling Drone Footage Of Auschwitz Concentration Camp

Seventy years ago today, on January 27, 1945, the Soviet Red Army liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp in southern Poland. To commemorate the anniversary, some 300 survivors gathered at Auschwitz today to pay respect to the more than 1.1 million people who were murdered there by the Nazi regime.

Recently, a drone captured chilling footage showing the sheer enormity of the concentration camp. As the video shows large brick buildings, the narrator says each building housed between 700-1,000 prisoners. Later, the footage shows the railroad tracks where prisoners would be delivered to the concentration camp. There, Nazi doctors would examine the prisoners and decided who would live and who would die.

It is important to humanity that we remember the genocide that occurred during WWII. We must never forget what happens when a tyrant uses fear and hatred to control the masses, so as to ensure that it never happens again.
