Liberals Need To Check Their Criticism Of American Sniper

There is one thing that bothers me more than anything; the fact that people can find fault with nearly everything.

I know there has been a lot of publicity, both good and bad, about the recently released movie American Sniper. I do understand both sides, but I feel as if there is so much hypocrisy going on with the bad. One minute, these people are praising our troops for their selflessness and their sacrifice, and the next minute they are complaining about the glorification of Chris Kyle.

They systematically tear down what was supposed to be a very real, emotional movie. Was the movie too raw? Do people not want to see what really goes on?

I’ve heard arguments that the movie completely disregarded how we got there in the first place. I’m sorry, but even as a liberal I can’t justify that argument. We all know, or at least should know, the story behind how we got there. Just because you don’t agree with the reason why we’re at war, doesn’t mean what the movie depicts is any less heroic.

Apparently, people think Chris Kyle was glorified, often being referred to as “legend” in the movie. What’s so controversial about this? In war, there is murder. The atrocities that occur probably shouldn’t even be talked about with the public.

When we were attacked on 9/11, do you remember the comradery that we as American citizens felt for each other and as a nation? Today, terrorism is still the number one?threat to the world and to America. Where does it stem from? The very same people who Chris Kyle tried to take out in attempt to protect America and his brothers in the military.

You can find your faults with the movie if you’d like, but understand it’s a movie depicting an American Hero and his life, not a fictional film that has no basis of reality. Nothing is being completely made up to glorify death and war. It’s sad, but it’s true.

Please, save your negative comments for another movie, because the last thing our country needs now is our own citizens criticizing what was supposed to be a patriotic movie depicting a man who would do anything to protect us.
