Mitt Romney To Focus On Losing Again Next Year

At the Republican National Committee dinner last night, Mitt Romney said he is seriously considering running for president a third time. Though Romney believes in his mind that “the third time’s the charm,” people living in reality know that it’s “three strikes and you’re out.”

Romney spent his evening trashing both President Obama and probable 2016 democratic contender Hillary Clinton, saying that,

“…The results of the Hillary Clinton/Barack Obama foreign policy has been devastating.”

However, he also made sure to claim that his (possible) 2016 bid would not focus on the Obama administration, stating,

“For our party and for the nation, 2016 is not going to be about the Obama years. It’s going to be about the post-Obama era. And in the post-Obama era, conservative principles are needed as perhaps never before during our lifetime…The only policies that will reach into the hearts of the American people and pull people out of poverty and break the cycle of poverty are Republican principles, conservative principles.”

Mitt Romney is, of course, ignoring President Obama’s own record as president, which Forbes magazine says shows the best private sector jobs creation performance in American history. In an article or Forbes.com, Bob Deitrick, CEO of Polaris Financial Partners, explained:

“President Reagan has long been considered the best modern economic President.? So we compared his performance dealing with the oil-induced recession of the 1980s with that of President Obama and his performance during this ‘Great Recession’…President Obama has achieved a 6.1% unemployment rate in his sixth year, fully one year faster than President Reagan did.? At this point in his presidency, President Reagan was still struggling with 7.1% unemployment, and he did not reach into the mid-low 6% range for another full year.? We forecast unemployment will fall to around 5.4% by summer, 2015.? A rate President Reagan was unable to achieve during his two terms.”

With Mitt Romney ignoring the facts (which, of course, is a either a well-known republican distraction tactic or just a sad side effect of their inability to understand things like “numbers,” “science,” and “math”), he managed to inspire the other republicans present at the dinner to get excited and enthusiastic about a potential Rick Perry or Ben Carson presidency. According to ABC News correspondent Ali Weinberg:

“The prevailing attitude about the former Massachusetts governor was that he might be an accomplished leader and good man, but that maybe he should step aside to let other new candidates run.”

However, at press time, it’s being reported that Romney still has binders full of women, some of whom are allowed to vote, and is giving “serious consideration” to losing again in 2016.
