MSNBC’s Chris Hayes On Golden Globes Winners: ‘Real White-Out Happening’

MSNBC host Chris Hayes noticed what anyone else watching the Golden Globes on Sunday noticed: it was really white in there.

Directly following Eddie Redmayne’s win for “Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama,” Hayes took to Twitter to passive-aggressively (and we love it!) note a striking lack of?Golden Globes victories for black actors?and even for the critically-acclaimed (though controversial)?civil rights drama?Selma.

From Mediaite:

Moments later, Boyhood took home the night’s biggest prize ? Best Motion Picture, Drama ? beating out the odds-on favorite Selma. Earlier in the program, Richard Linklater won a Best Director trophy for his 12-year labor of love, Boyhood, beating out Ava DuVernay for her work on Selma.

The only non-white victors in major categories tonight were TV show Jane the Virgin’s Best Actress nod for Gina Rodriguez and Selma’s Best Original Song victory for Common and John Legend’s ?Glory.”

Yeah, some things never change. Come on, Hollywood! Ridiculous.
