Erick Erickson Mocks Obama Plan, Thinks Sexual Assault At Colleges Is Hilarious

On Friday, an Obama?plan?was laid out that will make two years of community college free for all students who put forth an effort to maintain good grades. This is a proposal that has massive appeal nationwide and has sparked a conversation across the aisle about education.

However in true troll fashion, right-wing writer?Erick Erickson took to Twitter to educate the masses on his thoughts:

obama plan sexual assault

This is not the first time that Erickson has ignited the internet with his crass interpretation of humor. Erickson has recently spoken about LGBT activists, abortion, and even a possible lesbian/ebola connection.

Yet as disrespectful as his previous comments have been, Friday’s tweet regarding sexual assault?struck a deeper chord with me. Being one of those women who have been assaulted, to laugh it off as some sort of punch-line feels as though you, Mr. Erickson, have no compassion, no intelligence, and downright no empathy.

Sexual assault, Mr. Erickson, is a systemic problem in our colleges and universities. So for someone to play off two great initiatives the president has put forth this week: free college education, and tackling sexual assault on campus,?as some sort of quasi-master plan to create more victims is infuriating.

Every 21 hours there is a sexual assault?on a college campus, Mr. Erickson. So if a sitting president is finally hearing all the cries from those victims and trying to initiate change, sit down and shut up. We can all disagree with one another about?how the president is handling policy, but we should all agree that these two initiatives are good things for the rising generations. Creating a safer and more accessible learning environment should not be fodder for twisted trolls to degrade.

Furthermore, Mr. Erickson, sexual assault?should NEVER be a subject for you to make a “witty” tweet and gain views over. Sexual assault?is not laughable. Sexual assault, Mr. Erickson, is something I hope you never have to experience, especially as a father. So the next time you want to discuss an Obama plan or our presidents ideas, add something meaningful to the discussion or choose a different battle.
