2-Year-Old Hears His Mother’s Voice For The First Time And His Reaction Is Heartwarming

Oh how I love feel good stories like this.

Imagine living in a world of silence, never hearing the wonderful sounds of music, laughter, birds chirping in the morning, or the comfort of your mother’s voice. Approximately 5000 babies a year are born deaf in the United States. Fortunately, medical science is changing the fate for some.

KTLA 5?in Los Angeles has shared a story about 2-year-old Ryan Aprea who was born deaf but recently received a cochlear implant. Video captured the endearing moment when this little boy heard the sound of his mother’s voice for the first time.

Watch for yourself.

His mom, Jennifer Closson Aprea, posted on the family business’ Facebook page about his progress with the implant. Just look at that face!

The family has a small business built around cloth diapering. They state on the Spray Pal website,

?Many people ask, so we don’t mind sharing here, the proceeds from the sale of our product goes directly to our son’s medical expenses. He was born at 25 weeks gestation, so 3.5 months premature. He’s over 2 years old now, but still on oxygen, a feeding tube, and he is visually impaired and profoundly deaf. We share his story because he was born right after Spray Pal, and our community of supporters has been there praying for him and sending positive thoughts since the very beginning.?

I asked the family if we could share a few photos. Here are a few?of Ryan, who is fondly referred to as “2.0” on the Spray Pal Facebook page, enjoying the sounds of the world around him.

The expressions on his face provide us a glimpse of the joy and amazement experienced?by the new implant.
