Fox News has started a campaign, asking viewers to threaten Dish Network with losing massive amounts of customers should the cable provider black out Fox News.
The fear-mongering is reaching record heights. The headline on the website KeepFoxNews.com?warns ?You could lose Fox News any day now!? Administrators of the website call for viewers to tell Dish Network: “We’ve had enough of your blackouts and don’t appreciate being used as bargaining chips!? ?On their website, Fox reminds viewers what’s at stake should Fox News be cancelled by Dish:
?That means no more O?Reilly Factor, no more Hannity, no more FOX & Friends or Kelly File.?
A call to representatives at Dish Network uncovered the real reason behind the negotiation that Fox News has framed as persecution by the liberal media. According to one representative, Dish has no intention of ?dropping Fox in total.? Fox News’ contract with Dish ?is about to expire? and the network is asking for significantly higher amounts of money from Dish than in previous years. In an ?on-going negotiation,? Dish insists that they are ?protecting their customers? from paying higher rates for their cable service should Dish be forced to pay increasing amounts of money to air Fox News.

Fox asks viewers to press 1 to connect to Dish Network and threaten to cancel service should Fox News be blacked out. A blog began by Fox News regarding the progress of these negotiations warns that ?DISH Network is threatening to put their corporate interests ahead of their customers, by blocking the most-trusted name in cable news.? ?Previous black-outs have occurred in recent years between CBS, who additionally asked for more money from cable providers, and Dish Network as well as Time Warner Cable. Dish’s representative pointed out that these negotiations are very similar. ?This negotiation is no different than the negotiations we had with CBS,? she stated.
Fox News is, in essence, using the fear their viewers glean from constantly being reminded by the network that the government is coming to take their guns, LGBT activists are coming to indoctrinate their children, and the liberal media is trying to silence Fox News, by asking viewers to call and insist that Dish Network meet Fox Network’s demands for more money under threats that conservative viewers will switch to another cable provider if Dish refuses. Who exactly is using these viewers as bargaining chips?
