The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart wants to turn a moment with Duchess Kate Middleton into an internet meme. And for good reason!
When Prince William and Duchess Kate visited New York City a lot of interesting things happened. Jon points out how they enforced traditional gender roles as William met in the Oval Office with President Obama while Kate visited a Child Development Center. ?This was an interesting moment because while the couple may not have noted how gender-obvious these choices were, a lot of America definitely took notice. In a leff offensive move, the couple also saw King James play in Barclays Center while also meeting America’s seemingly?royal couple, Beyonce and Jay Z.
But perhaps the most memorable moment of their trip to NYC took place when a supervisor at the Child Development Center told Kate to just “keep wrapping” in reference to the presents she was wrapping with the children. Kate, playfully, looks away and rolls her eyes.

This is what I have always loved about Kate. She seems down-to-earth (considering) and actually funny! She is someone I would want to hang out with!!! How rare I suppose for a member of the iconic royal family.

Is this proper behavior? We keep believing that the Royals are somehow not humans like the rest of us. We perceive them to be a sort of moving statue. But they are not perfect. They are not paragons of immorality. Plus, screw these ancient rules! I love that Lebron put his arm around Kate. I love that they were chatting it up with our music royalty. I love that Kate threw major shade with her face which was ALL caught on tape!
The point is, these moments of realness is what makes me love these royals so very much. Do you agree? ?Of course they are those who want to stay in the 1700s and does not want to see them do anything fun, real, human-like, interesting, etc. But I think people, especially in America, appreciate these moments. And I for one, do want to see the Kate eye-rolling memes to last a long time! I want to see all of the funny sayings that go along with it. I just hope Kate is aware of these memes and finds them as funny as I do.
