When A Photographer’s Identity Is Stolen, She Gets The Best Revenge Imaginable

From Petapixel:

In 2011, photographer Jessamyn Lovell was at San Francisco gallery SF Camerawork when her wallet was stolen. Not long after, the unauthorized charges started pouring in.

Infuriated at what was taking place, Lovell decided to track down her thief rather than simply replace her stolen cards and move on with her life. In doing so, she turned this art gallery mishap into an art project all its own.

With the help of a private investigator, Lovell tracked down the thief, a woman named Erin Coleen Hart. Lovell’s initial plan was to confront Hart, but she decided to go a different route: she followed the thief throughout the city and took photos when the opportunity presented itself. The result Fabulousness.

Lovell gathered as much info as she could on the thieft and then used the 34 images she had taken in a San Francisco photo exhibit that she penned Dear Erin Hart. Best of all? She mailed an invitation to the exhibit to Erin Hart.

You can follow the unfortunate Ms. Hart’s journey from its beginning to its dismal end below — in pictures.
