Curt Schilling: If Humans Evolved From Monkeys, Why Are There Still Monkeys?

This past week, former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling lost his mind, but fortunately for most it wasn’t because of baseball. Late last month, ESPN Reporter Keith Law took to the twitter universe – which is actually his job – about the subject of Evolution and his personal stance on the subject. To make a long story short, Law is a supporter of Charles Darwin and his Theory of Evolution. Shortly after the tweets by Law hit the airwaves. Curt Schilling displayed what is arguably one of the most epic of rants ever posted by a sports/television personality about a specific social issue. Here are some of the Tweets by Schilling, courtesy of?Deadspin.?

So…I must add a little disclaimer here before I go ahead: that is I am a huge Yankee fan. Don’t even get me started on the bloody sock in Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS – so I have very little love for anything regarding Red Sox Nation. Now with that being said, Curt Schilling is a hero in Boston, and he is one of the few responsible for ending The Curse of the Bambino?and bringing a World Series Championship back to the people of Boston.

Schilling has been known to own a gritty type of personality both on and off the field, whether it be his gripe with pitcher Mitch Williams?,Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez?,?or Democratic Politicians?like Martha Coakley?- Schilling’s persona always finds a way to bite him in the ass. One would think that after encountering such a dramatic?health scare?as he has so recently faced, that the need to tune down the crazy animal inside would surface and life could go on without reservation, allowing Curt to once again focus on analyzing the game of baseball and ever so slightly – as to much of our dismay – dabbling in the arena of American politics.

I can’t help but admire the way Keith Law responded to the onslaught of remarks posted by Schilling. His level of respect and professionalism never waned throughout the entire episode. I only wonder if I would have?been able to do the same. Could you? Would you be able to go on the offensive the way Law did? I give you much respect Mr. Law.
