If you live in Soviet Russia… Oh I’m sorry, I mean if you live in New York City and you are a protester or “fit the profile” your right to? movement will be heavily restricted by the NYPD.
How in the hell is this legal?
Last night, thousands of protesters the NYPD “screened” (illegally questioned and searched) were barred from boarding the Staten Island Ferry at Whitehall Terminal. Ferries were designated as “commuters only” in a North Korean style effort to prevent the free movement of thousands just to avoid protests spilling into Staten Island.
It is bad enough cops play judge, jury, and executioner when dealing with people of color. Now to add more salt to a deep wound, they willfully and openly violate First and Fourth Amendment rights on a mass scale. As a veteran, I am deeply insulted. The NYPD has proven to be a domestic enemy of the very Constitution I took an oath to support, uphold, and defend.
NYPD, I, and many more, will not stand for this. We will continue to shut down the streets, and we will film and expose your crime and corruption until you end this war against the people of this city and its visitors.
