Sasha And Malia Are Sooooo Completely Done With Their Embarrassing Dad

Yesterday, we published an article about the despicable GOP aide who attacked teenagers Sasha and Malia Obama over the way they were dressed at Pres. Obama’s annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon ceremony. The fact is, there was nothing wrong with how they were dressed. Do any of you have (or have had ) teenage girls? I’d have LOVED to get mine into a sweater and plaid skirt at that age!

But anyhow, here is the point we need to address: how these girls behaved. They were visibly embarrassed and it showed in their body language. But guess what? This is what teenagers do. Let’s analyze this from the perspective of our own teenage experience and those of our own daughters.

Their dad gets up here in front of the entire world (seriously….the entire world watches everything their cheesy dad does!) and starts talking about this dang turkey. You KNOW they were forced to go out there. You KNOW they probably both have crushes on little boys who they just know are laughing hysterically about this turkey pardon ceremony being done “on behalf of Malia and Sasha.” and then Dad starts talking….

“[…] to spare the lives of two turkeys — Mac and Cheese — from a terrible and delicious fate.”

“[…] keeping a careful eye on Cheese…he’s getting pretty excited about this.”

Then he starts talking from the point of view of these turkeys — talking about how they feel, what they’re thinking, etc…

And then he goes into?how dignified turkeys are, citing the Ben Franklin quote:

And he points out that everyone is anxious to get out of town, “Mac and Cheese included.”

And THEN, he goes over and does this official pardon, complete with weird hand movements. Of course, he insists that the girls come over closer, and asks them if they want to touch Cheese. Are you kidding me? If they were already embarrassed, they just melted into the floor.

As research, I called my daughter, who is now a more reasonable 19, and asked her how she would have reacted and how she would have felt in this situation. She’d have been mortified. She also said that there’s nothing wrong with the way they’re dressed and that all girls are wearing short skirts like that, including her.

So I’m preaching to the choir here. I know Liberal Americans understand all of?this and we also understand?that no matter what we think of politicians, the kids are off limits. ?Most Republicans don’t get this, of course. Nothing is sacred to them.
