Bail Bondsman Accused Of KKK Involvement: ‘Some Of My Best Clients Are Black’

When I wrote this story last weekend, I received a deluge of emails from some of the people accused of KKK involvement. They didn’t like their hoods being taken off by Anonymous and they wanted their names and photos removed from the accusations. As a Twitter user told me: “Of course they don’t like being exposed. That’s why they wear hoods lol.”

One of the people who contacted me demanding that photos be removed is a bail bondsman. I removed the information about this person as requested, but asked for an explanation. Here is the response I received. I’m redacting identifying information to protect their privacy.

There you have it, folks. I wouldn’t knowingly be BFF with a Klan member, but to each his own, I guess. One should be prepared for flak if they choose to associate with these monsters.

More than anything, I’m disturbed that some of this person’s best clients are black. My mind goes all sorts of crazy directions when I hear something like that. Is black crime an important part of this area’s industry and commerce? Good to know that they “do everything perfectly.” I’ll just bet they do. There are clearly dire punishments for black people who make mistakes or even look “suspicious,” not just in Ferguson, Missouri, but in way too many other places as well. Knowing that someone can gun you down in cold blood for just “looking suspicious” is a pretty good deterrent for….looking suspicious. If this isn’t “walking while black” or “driving while black” or whatever, I don’t know what is.

Further disturbing is that this person doesn’t even realize how bad it sounds for her to say “some of my very best clients are black.” What does that tell you about the thinking in the area of the country?

I do agree with this person on one thing: it’s really cool to be “innocent until proven guilty.” Michael Brown’s mother would have appreciated that sentiment being forwarded to her son. As it is, people like my new friend the bail bondsman are accusing him of his own murder, just as they did with Trayvon Martin. And no, I’m not race-baiting. Find me stories of white people being essentially accused of their own murders and I’ll gladly publish them. We do it all the time.
