Why The Power Shift In The Senate May Lead To…Nothing

With the dust starting to finally settle on the power shift in the Senate that took place Tuesday, reality may have a voice in what happens now. When you take the talk of ?sweeping change? out of the GOP’s visions of grandeur, the reality is that between the infighting between your rank and file Republicans and, the Tea Party’s driven vision of ?Merica, we may just get the same results from the Senate to Congress?nothing.

Add all of this to the fact that the entire mission of the GOP for the last six years has been to stonewall any progress that the POTUS has attempted, more gridlock is sure to be on the way. Remember the President still has his phone and pen at his disposal.

While Republicans may be celebrating this new power shift and looking forward to pushing forward their own privatized agendas, the reality is that the President still has two more years at the helm.

While the possibility of actual governing for the people is not totally out of the question, chances are we can expect the same results from the infighting on both sides of the aisle?nothing. With two more years before the next Presidential Elections, this may not bode well for the Republicans newfound power.

Americans surely will not forget the Republican led government shutdown, the needlessly wasted amount of time and money trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and their well earned reputation as probably one of the worst Congresses in U.S. history.

Until then, we will see if Republicans can actually get out of their own way, and finally get something done.
