Rand Paul: McConnell Victory A Referendum On Hillary Clinton

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) isn’t even thinking about the 2014 midterm election? Last night, he gave an interview to Fox News and seemed very focused on Hillary Clinton.

“You know, I think here in Kentucky, I think it was a referendum not only on the president, but on Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Grimes ran as a Clinton Democrat. She tried to disassociate herself from Obama and attach herself to Hillary Clinton. But it turns out Hillary Clinton doesn’t have many coattails in Kentucky.?

His language got stronger as the interview progressed, and he said that it was a??repudiation basically of the president’s policies but also Hillary Clinton.?

Anchor Bret Baier tried to steer the interview back to the election results and asked

“What do you say to Republicans who say “maybe we don’t suck that bad”?”

Rand Paul had a hard time staying on topic, though. All he wanted to talk about was the 2016 presidential race and he KEPT coming back to Hillary Clinton. Anchor Bret Baier even commented on it.

?It sounds like you want to talk about a potential opponent there a couple of times,? Baier quipped.

Paul pointed out that the Clintons campaigned heavily to no avail in races in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Iowa.

“Did the Clintons help their ticket? So far I don’t think they have.”
