This is an amazing image from xkcd.com that gives a visual to how deeply we drill for oil, among other things. We can see the depths of the ocean and why it was so challenging to get to the Titanic. We can also see how far down James Cameron went when he decided to go to the deepest place on Earth. We can also see how very shallow our own Great Lakes are. And it’s incredible to fathom how deeply we have to go into the ocean to find oil. Fascinating stuff.
