Vote!: Women’s Rights At Critical Juncture

Women’s rights are at risk from voters staying home this mid-election. Please get the word out to everyone you know, especially:

  • women who want to make as much as men for the same work
  • women?who want to make their own reproductive and health care decisions
  • people?who want to be able to access quality health care without worrying about how to pay for a doctor’s visit or being turned away at the emergency room due to lack of insurance
  • people who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault
  • those?who need?to be able to seek help in domestic violence situations

States receive significant grant funding from the?Violence Against Women Act. In 2013, it was due to be reauthorized via congressional vote. More than 130 Republican congressional members voted AGAINST?the VAWA reauthorization last year. VAWA provides funding for:

  • victim advocacy
  • sexual assault response teams
  • child advocacy centers: ?they provide trained clinicians to interview children who are victims of crime and sexual abuse
  • supervised visitation centers
  • crisis centers

The publication?Psychology Today?stated in its November 4, 2013 publication, in an article titled, “Who’s Smarter? Republicans and Democrats in Congress” (Jonathan Wei, PhD. in Finding the Next Einstein) the following:

“54.7% of Democratic Senators vs. 22.2% of Republican Senators were in the top 1% for cognitive?ability. ?31.1% of Democratic Congress members vs. 11.2% of Republican Congress members were in the top 1%.”

We already know this, but we need to?PROVE?our intelligence by getting out to VOTE! We need to keep the SMART PEOPLE IN OFFICE.
