The Best Of Leonardo DiCaprio At The U.N. Climate Summit

Leonardo DiCaprio delivered his best lines to the 2014 U.N. Climate Summit this week. The beautiful thing about these lines is that they were truth, not lines from a Hollywood movie set. And Leonardo did not let that fact go by without notice.

At the opening of the Climate Summit, DiCaprio had this to say:

?As an actor, I pretend for a living. I play fictitious characters often solving fictitious problems. I believe that mankind has looked at climate change in that same way, as if it were a fiction, as if pretending that climate change wasn’t real, would somehow make it go away. But I think we all know better than that now.?

The argument over climate change has been going back and forth for awhile now. And while something that would seem to be scientifically evident gets manipulated from various special interest groups, the problem continues to be neglected.

While environmentalist and protesters took to the streets in New York as well as worldwide this week, according to Reuters, there were ?too few commitments? made by U.N. leaders at the Summit.

In the U.S. specifically though, it seems the battle continues regarding climate change on somewhat of an elementary school level as far as many Republicans are concerned. When the likes of Jon Stewart opens his show with video of Republican nonsense statements, you know you’ve made it to the top of the ?what the hell?? list.

But let’s give Mr. DiCaprio the last word. As he so eloquently put to the leaders of the world:

?Honored delegates, leaders of the world, I pretend for a living, but you do not. The people made their voices heard on Sunday around the world, and the momentum will not stop. But now it is your turn. The time to answer human kinds greatest challenge is now. We beg of you to face it with courage and honesty. Thank you.?
