DREAMers Ambush Steve King, Rand Paul Makes A Hasty Departure

In this video, two very intelligent young DREAMers approach Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) and Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) at a fundraising event?in?Okoboji, Iowa in early August.?Erika Andiola and?Cesar Vargas approach the pair peacefully, shake hands, and then explain that they?benefit from the Dream Act?and?the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

Rand Paul immediately stands up and makes a hasty departure from the table, leaving a full plate of food. Then, Andiola confronts King for trying to end DACA and explains that it would have a devastating effect on her life. From the?U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services:

On June 15, 2012, the Secretary of Homeland Security announced that certain people who came to the United States as children and meet several guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal. They are also eligible for work authorization. Deferred action is a use of prosecutorial discretion to defer removal action against an individual for a certain period of time.
